Michael Costeines is a Scout/Recruiter based out of South Florida. Originally from Connecticut, he received his BS in Journalism from Southern Connecticut State University in 2014. At Southern, Michael wrote for the student newspaper covering men’s and women’s basketball as well as the football team. He was born in Madison, Conn and attended Daniel Hand High School.
Michael has evaluated high school basketball and football talent in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties since 2018. He has scouted players such as Vernon Carey Jr, Scottie Barnes, Zaire Wade, Jett Howard, Shemar Stewart, Donnell Harris Jr., Gabe Taylor, Lena Girardi and Jordana Codio. He has written over 700 articles and covered 1000’s of high school athletes to date. Moreover, he has attended countless high school games, showcases and tournaments across the South Florida region.
Michael previously worked at NBC Sports in Stamford, Conn as a game editor/logger for their flagship NHL, Football Night in America and Notre Dame football broadcasts. His responsibilities included cutting highlights and soundbites to be used on NBC Sports’ programming.
He has also worked for various websites/publications such as Mars Reel and Hero Sports covering FCS and D2 football as well as basketball.
Michael enjoys working out and playing basketball in his free time.
